David W. Blaeser is among the most well-known and respected lawyers in the specialties of workers’ compensation and Social Security. Blaeser Law Office was established in 1996. Mr. Blaeser is dedicated to helping injured workers and disabled individuals.
From his farming and blue-collar roots of small-town western Wisconsin, Mr. Blaeser brings an honest and earnest quality to his practice. He has an understanding of, and compassion for, working men and women and the troubles they are presented with when they suffer work injuries and from the effects of disabilities.
Mr. Blaeser attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986, he attended Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr. Blaeser graduated from Hamline University School of Law in 1989.
While in law school, Mr. Blaeser clerked at the Eau Claire law firm of Thomas Guelzow. He later worked as a legislative intern with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. During his last year and a half of law school, Mr. Blaeser clerked for the Minneapolis law firm of Blaeser & Johnson, P.A.
After graduation and passing the Minnesota Bar, Mr. Blaeser joined the law firm of Cousineau, McGuire, Shaughnessy, and Anderson, located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. As an associate with this firm, the focus of his practice was workers’ compensation insurance defense. Mr. Blaeser represented over 75 different insurance companies in all aspects of workers’ compensation insurance defense.
In 1993, Mr. Blaeser accepted a position as a staff attorney with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry in St. Paul, Minnesota. He worked as a staff attorney and counsel in the Special Compensation Fund, Second Injury Fund, Supplemental Benefits Fund, and the Uninsured Employer Section of the Special Compensation Fund.
In 1994, Mr. Blaeser joined Sentry Insurance Company as in-house counsel. He joined Joseph M. Goldberg & Associates, and Mr. Blaeser was responsible for in-house counsel operations in the area of workers’ compensation defense for Sentry Insurance in the state of Minnesota.
In 1996, Mr. Blaeser left Sentry Insurance Company and opened his own law practice in Woodbury, Minnesota. We are now celebrating our 21st year of practice in Woodbury. Mr. Blaeser’s practice is limited exclusively to the representation of injured workers, sometimes referred to “petitioner’s workers’ compensation,” and representing claimants before the Social Security Administration for disability claims.

Marlys Harmon brings over four decades of legal secretarial experience to Blaeser Law Office. Marlys worked as a legal secretary for a local defense firm for nearly 30 years, primarily in the area of workers’ compensation insurance defense.
Elizabeth Morgan – Legal Secretary and Legal Assistant
Beth Morgan brings over 30 years of experience as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster to Blaeser Law Office. Beth understands the workers’ compensation system. Beth worked at the Department of Labor and Industry in the Special Compensation Fund as a claims adjuster. Beth also worked as a workers’ compensation claims adjuster for several local insurance companies and third-party administrators.
